Mrs Wong Mee Mee
Under Mrs Wong Mee Mee’s leadership, the school continued to implement innovative programmes to engage students so as to meet their needs, increase their self-confidence and achievement motivation. One of these
innovations in 2008 was a pro-active measure to better engage our lower secondary Normal Technical (NT) students in their learning outcomes-the NTcipate Life @ Bendemeer programme. This programme aimed to equip our students with greater self-confidence to acquire important life-skills that will be beneficial to them in the future. Leveraging on MOE’s initiative to provide Elective Modules (EMs) for our upper secondary Normal Course students, the school also sought out accreditated courses that can give our students an advantage when they apply for ITE where possible. The Sequoia Programme was also introduced to equip our at-risk students with resilience training and close attention from the teachers so as to increase their chances of success in school.
In recognition of the school’s efforts, the school was awarded the Lee Hsien Loong Award for Innovations in the Normal Course in 2010.
To build resilience in our students taking their National O and N level examinations while discovering the heritage of Singapore, she introduced the NE Milestone walk in 2011 where staff and these students walked a total of 12 km from the school to the Marina Barrage.
